You can’t turn on the television or even go to the grocery store without hearing some buzz about the upcoming Royal Wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton.

I had the opportunity to visit London a couple of years ago and what I loved most about London is that every city and every building has a history and story behind it. Westminster Abbey especially held a special place in my heart because of the profound events that have taken place there. The big day is here where history will be made there once again with the Royal Wedding of William and Cate.

Since we all have the wedding fever I thought these Miniature Wedding Cakes were perfect for the big celebration. These cakes are fairly straightforward using a multi-tiered wedding cake pan. Trying to plan a wedding on a budget? These would be a great inexpensive alternative. A recent trend I’ve been seeing lately at weddings are these miniature wedding cakes used as table centerpieces that also double as dessert. Don’t be intimidated…even the most novice decorator can pull these off.

Betty Crocker’s Whipped Fluffy White frosting works great for these wedding cakes because of the pure white color. Now if I were decorating these for a wedding I would probably decorate them all the same but I wanted to show you a couple of easy variations below.

If you feel confident in your decorating skills use a small star tip to decorate your cake. I used Betty Crocker Cupcake Gems to add a little sparkle to the top of the cake.

Don’t worry if you don’t have any decorating tools. Look how elegant this cake looks simply using silver ribbon and silver sprinkles.

Another easy way to decorate your cake is using a string of wired pearls, that can be found at your local craft store, wrapped around the base of each tier.  I also used them to easily form a heart shaped cake topper.

So whether it’s for a do-it-yourself wedding or just for fun, these Miniature Wedding Cakes are an easy and impressive dessert!

Maybe you could have these out at the bridal shower to help everyone help you make a decision on which wedding cake to pick out. But what do I know? I am only 12 and on this website because I am going to a gala for dance and have to have something done.

I got pans like these a year ago to learn how to frost cakes. They are so adorable and much better for serving portions. Got them at the arts and crafts store.

Looks to be a 4, 6, and 8″. Could be wrong but can see that working. Michael’s or wilton.com.

Yes, where did you get the right size pans for the mini tiers? How tall are these “mini”cakes when put together?
