Partying like a rock star has its merits, but partying like a pop star is where it’s at.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. There are a few of us here at Tablespoon who have fallen under the purple spell of the Beebs. Try as we may to pretend that it’s just about liking a few hit songs, a squeal or two has been known to be heard whenever something Bieb-a-licious crosses our path. Case in point, michellep.’s recent Bieber inspired Purple-rific Layer Cake. It’s so cute!!!
So in honor of our secret “shawty mane” crushin’, I thought I’d take a stab at creating a Beebs-worthy purple cocktail for all the true “beliebers” out there. I bring to you, the Beliebertini.
I wanted to make sure the drink had total star quality. So, of course, the only thing that could really make this drink rock was…

It was really easy to make and turned out just like Beebs, short and sweet. To start out, muddle 6 or 7 mint leaves in a 1/2 oz of simple syrup. I wanted to make sure I captured JB’s “fresh” factor, and this did the trick. Pour this into a cocktail shaker along with grape vodka, lemonade, ice and a dash of blue curacao. Shake it for a minute and then pour into two martini glasses. Garnish with a purple rock candy wand, sprinkle in some pop rocks and enjoy!
