Hey LucyK – you’re right. You’ll need to use the white baking squares to get the right consistency. Also – its key that you FREEZE each layer as you make it, then firm it up with at least 12 hrs in the fridge before you serve. We’ve eaten it a bunch at Tablespoon, and while its softer than traditional fudge, it should not be mushy at all. And you don’t want to let it sit out too long at the party. If it gets a little softer, toss it in the fridge for a few.

Just asking again…….Please help if you can! I used white chocolate chips and mine came out pretty, but soft and mushy! Is it because I used chips or is it because I should have let it set longer between layers?? I waited 15-20 minutes. If I wait longer, will that work??? I love this recipe and need to make it again for an event and I want it to be perfect. TBSPErin can you help??

Mine came out beautiful, tasted great, BUT, it was mushy. I used white chocolate chips instead, but is it because of that? Or is it because I should have let each layer set longer? I let each layer set approximately 15-20 minutes.

These are awesome what a great idea these would be a really good fudge to make for christmas by making them red white & green or even for the fourth of july by using red, white,& blue these would also be a great fudge to make for a bridal shower you could simply switch out the rainbow colors with the wedding colors. As far as kellykakers is concern if she really did make them I have the feeling she accidentally used evaporated milk instead of the sweetened condensed milk.

Wow…this would be so pretty at Easter time….

To add flavor you can get colorless flavors at Wilton Cake Decorating stores this is used for buttercream icing.

i bet that would work too! it never hurts to try it! if u do it that way, please let us know how it turns out!

1/02/2012 1:50 PM

Couldn’t you just use the colored melting chocolate they sell rather than the liquid food coloring? Cuts out the chopping step too.

These were yucky!!! :( I followed the directions and it looked BEAUTIFUL, but I gave them to my inlaws and they all walked around saying how gross they were. What an embarrassing disappointment – especially for all that work!!!
