Have you ever wondered if the phrase, “April showers bring May flowers” is actually true?
Who knows with the crazy weather that’s been happening lately…I’ll tell you one thing—if you’ve got a can of edible spray paint and some Pillsbury Sugar Cookies dough, you can definitely turn showers into flowers!
For these easy but creative cookies, start by rolling out the dough about ¼ inch thick. Using cookie cutters if you have them, cut out the shapes of raindrops, clouds, and flowers. I had flower cookie cutters, but not the cloud or raindrops, but no worries! The clouds and raindrops are super duper easy to cut out by hand.
After the cookies cool completely, spread vanilla frosting liberally on each cookie.
Now comes the fun part—using the edible spray paint! You use it just as you would real spray paint. Shake up the can and spray a light mist of color onto each cookie, being sure to spray the surface evenly so the color doesn’t look splotchy.
I used silver for the clouds and raindrops, and bright pink and orange for the flowers!
For displaying the cookies, pair the raindrops with the clouds on one platter and the flower cookies on another platter.
Find a cute sign that says “April Showers bring May Flowers!” to complete the transition between rainy and sunny cookies!
These are the perfect cookies for celebrating spring!
