So picture this: you’re about to throw a party at your house.
You’ve had the theme planned out to a T for months. Your invitations were sent out or phone calls were dialed, groceries all bought, food all prepped, drinks all mixed, and the last thing you needed to do was to bake some warm & delicious chocolate chip cookies for some sweet bites to eat.
The ingredient list calls for “butter, softened to room temperature.” You curse yourself as you peer into the fridge and the butter is sitting in the container staring back at you.
Don’t you hate those moments?!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made a dish and it calls for “room temperature butter” or “softened” butter. It takes so long to get butter to be soft! If you don’t put butter out immediately in the morning for baking or cooking in the afternoon, you’re pretty much guaranteed to delay your cooking schedule; but you can’t for a pre-planned party!
I’ve come to save the day as I have a fool-proof method of getting butter to quickly soften to room temperature. Trust me, you’ll never have to set butter out early again!
Place your stick of butter on a microwave-safe dish.

Put 0:40 seconds on the microwave time.

After 10 seconds, stop the microwave. Take the stick of butter and give it a quarter turn.

Continue to do this every 10 seconds until you’ve turned your stick of butter on all 4 sides. Remember that all microwaves are different in intensity so if your butter is literally melting, do not continue any more. You should check after every 10 seconds to see if it’s softened enough to your liking.
VOILA! Look at that SOFT buttah!!
