Let’s all raise a glass for buffalo wings.

Hot and spicy with a cool blue cheese sauce, they’re one of my absolute favorite guilty pleasures for eating when I’m watching the big game, or just straight up chillin’. They’re so good that you almost think they can’t be improved. But maybe we can get the buffalo wing taste in another delicious fashion?

Let’s review. Improving the famous buffalo wing? No. Replicating the flavor by creating another delicious, chill-worthy entrée? Yes.

I’m talking about my latest creation – Baked Buffalo Chicken Wraps and Dipping Sauce. That’s a mouthful. A mouthful of FLAVA, that is! To make this flavor explosion, keep reading…and prepare to drool.

To make buffalo chicken, I took a shortcut, and let me just say, I’m cool with shortcuts. Very cool. When the grocery store creates wonderful rotisserie chickens, it’s just silly not to use them. I shredded my rotisserie chicken and added hot buffalo wing sauce to it.

Chicken mixed with hot buffalo sauce

If you’re a wuss, you don’t have to get hot sauce. But if you’re food-venturous like myself, you’ll want it as hot as can be.

Mix in the broccoli slaw shreds and chopped red onion. Place two pieces of phyllo dough on a glass baking dish and spray generously with cooking spray. Place the chicken mixture in the middle of the dough sheets and top with blue cheese, like this:

Then place two more phyllo pieces on top, and spray again with cooking spray. Being very careful (as the phyllo is super delicate and flakes easily), wrap the chicken mixture and tuck edges under. Brush melted butter on the top of the wrap to give it a golden color. Bake for 12-15 minutes in a 375 degree oven.

Cut and serve with the blue cheese dipping sauce!

Whoops – forgot to give you the recipe for the dipping sauce. Mix Yoplait Greek yogurt (plain) with a squeeze of lemon, a minced garlic clove and 2 tablespoons of blue cheese. Mix and add more blue cheese until it tastes uber blue-cheesy. Now you’re ready for the flavor explosion.

Yogurt-blue cheese dipping sauce

Cut your flaky, delicious chicken wrap in half and get your blue cheese dip on. It’s like biting into a buffalo chicken wing – and you know what they say: “Ain’t no thang but a chicken wing.”

This is a very good recipe!

If you want it Authentic Buffalo Style just do the following:

Use Franks Hot Sauce

Mix in Butter with Hot sauce to taste

NOTE: adding more butter and decrease Hot sauce makes it milder

We normally eat our wings with Blue cheese, raw celery and carrots.

I would eliminate the Broccoli Slaw and onion. Mix shredded carrots and celery into the Yogurt/Blue cheese and make it a slaw…Add more Blue cheese.
