Football is right around the corner and I can’t wait.
Not for the sports action, but for the food! I love all things food related to football – from full out tailgating to just sitting in front of the TV at home, snacking on dips. Oh, how I love me the dips! And the easier the dip is to make, the better!
Enter Progresso Recipe Starters to my rescue. I tried the Fire Roasted Tomato flavor to make a super Easy Pizza Dip that the kiddos went crazy over. Anytime you can get teens to approve, it’s always a good thing. I served this with soft Greek pita bread, but bread sticks would work great too.
Use any toppings that you would want on a pizza. I personally would have loved one with bacon, black olives, and mushrooms, but I was out voted by three kids (which pretty much always happens). Don’t feel confined to pepperoni; make this a meat lover’s, veggie lover’s, or whatever lover’s pizza dip.
To make the dip, you simply:
Mix together the ricotta cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper. Layer at the bottom of a baking dish (8-x-8 or you can do small individual ones).
Next, add the Progresso Fire Roasted Tomato Recipe Starter on top of the ricotta layer.
Then sprinkle the Italian cheese blend on top of the tomato layer.
Add the pepperoni on top of the cheese layer.
Bake for 30-35 minutes at 350F. Grab your bread and you are good to go root for your favorite team… or favorite snack.
