Grab your mateys and start swashbucklin’ – prepare the deck with a quick DIY project and some seaworthy pirate recipes!
1) DIY Boozy Pirate Chest (a.k.a. Davy Jones’ Locker)
A proper pirate celebration needs booze, and the booze needs to be cold. Can’t give out warm drinks on the high seas! Create a treasure chest drink cooler by using a wooden chest from a craft store. The directions are simple!
Paint the chest a dark brown color using regular paint or spray paint. Let it dry and then adorn with stickers. Spell out “ARRR!” and add some Jolly Roger (skull and crossbones) flair. In the body of the chest, put a plastic storage container and fill it with ice.
Stuff the container with a bottle of rum (“yo-ho-ho!”), jelly shots and other party drinks fit for a pirate ship.
2) Grog and Doubloons
