If it’s a good shot, there’s probably a way to make a jelly shot out of it!
Find a seriously good flavor combination, that’s at least somewhat sweet, and there will be an alcoholic shot out there based on the flavors.
In this case, the shot and the food aren’t exactly the same, but they go perfectly together. The shot is a sweet marshmallow hazelnut shot and the snack – chocolate covered pretzels with sea salt.
Eat them together and the delicious Chocolate Pretzel Jelly Shot is born.
These shots are pretty strong, so you’ll need a fair amount of gelatin to get them to firm up. Melt the geletin completely, by heating the water and condensed milk in the microwave until it’s steaming, but not boiling.
Then sprinkle your gelatin in and stir it well.
There might be some lumps as the gelatin dissolves, but just do you best to stir them out of the mixture. Then add in your booze!
Once your booze is added, go ahead and pour the shots into whatever mold you are using. I just used a few mini muffin tins. You can fill them to the brim! Stick the shots in the fridge and let them chill for about four hours. They should be completely set at that point.
In the meantime, melt some bittersweet chocolate gently either over a double boiler or in the microwave on low power. Once it’s melted, drizzle it over a bunch of pretzels.
Will you need all these pretzels for the shots? No. But is there ever such a thing as too many chocolate covered pretzels? Exactly.
After four hours, you can pop these bad boys out of the mold. Just run a knife around the edge to loosen the shot and they should lift right out.
Then top each shot with pretzel pieces/crumbles and a sprinkle of sea salt. I tried the drink as an actual shot and as a jelly shot and I actually preferred the jelly shot! Go figure.
If you’re going to a party with alcohol this holiday season, consider bringing these suckers. You’ll be the life of the party!
