I will admit that I am not an eggnog person.

Well, that’s not totally true. I don’t like eggnog, as eggnog. But you put it in a latte, cookie, cake, and now a Eggnog Jelly Shot and I love it. I still to this day, I am not sure why. So I was a little nervous to make jelly shots out of it.

This is just a fun way to serve this holiday favorite. Since there are so few ingredients to this, if you don’t like eggnog flavor, you may want to check out different jelly shots. If you do love eggnog, then these will rock your party – BIG TIME!

Just a few ingredients, some chill time, and you have a festive holiday jelly shot.

To make the shots:

Eggnog jelly shot, step 1 prep the mold

Spray the mold pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place the mold pan on a cookie sheet for stability.

Eggnog jelly shot, step 2 ingredients in pan

Combine the eggnog and the gelatin in a medium saucepan. Allow the gelatin to bloom for 1 to 2 minutes.

Eggnog jelly shot, step 3 add liquor

Over low heat, stir the gelatin mixture with a whisk for about 5 minutes or until the gelatin has completely dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the bourbon.

Eggnog jelly shot, step 4 fill molds

Fill each mold cavity with the eggnog gelatin mixture. Put into fridge and let set up for 2 hours.

Eggnog jelly shot

Decorate with whipped cream, a pinch of nutmeg, and holly-shaped cookie decorations.

For your next holiday party, serve your ‘nog – jelly shot style!

i made these for Christmas and they where a complete disaster. They never completly set, were a mess removing from the silicon plan (that i did spray) and although we kept them in the fridge, they slowly melted and curded. By 5pm Christmas day (i made them christmas eve) they where described as “90proof cottage cheese”. I am going to try this idea again but with ALOT less whiskey involved.

I did this in a silicone bundt pan for a Christmas party. I increased the recipe by 2.5 times. And used rum.

HOWEVER! Feeling that 5 cups of rum to 5 cup of eggnog would be strong, I subbed two cups of rum with sone sweetened condensed milk and a touch of maple syrup and used only 3 cups of rum.

It was still rather strong! But everyone liked it! I think the next time I make these (and yes, there WILL be a next time), I will make individual shots, keep the 1:1 eggnog to rum ratio, and up the gelatin by ½ a packet, as this was rather soft and almost pudding like.
