This New Year’s Eve I wanted something fun, festive and EASY to serve my guests.

We’ve been in full party mode since Thanksgiving and I want to finish the year with a bang but let’s face it: I’m tired!  So, what to serve my guests that will be memorable, but easy to throw together?

We came up with these adorable little party cones and the possibilities are endless of what you can serve in them!  All you need are egg roll wrappers or won ton wrappers and unwaxed cone drinking cups.

New Year's Eye Party Cones Step 1

Trim the edges of the wrappers as shown below:

Spray both sides with nonstick cooking spray, wrap around cups and bake at 350 for 8-11 minutes.

Now for the fun part!  The fillings!  We decided our guests would want both sweet and savory options.  For the sweet, we simply cut up some of our favorite fruits and topped with Yoplait Apple Turnover yogurt.  Yum!

For savory, we did a “cheeseburger” version with ground beef and chopped onions served over a bed of lettuce with cheese sauce topping. (Thanks to Bob Blumer, and his book Surreal Gourmet Bites: Showstoppers and Conversation Starters, for the inspiration.)

If you want an even smaller serving size for appetizers or finger foods, simply use won ton wrappers instead of egg roll wrappers.  We tried them out and served them up in shot glasses and they were a huge hit!  I can totally see a delicious mousse or pudding served in these!

Ever since I found out how easy these are to make, my head has been swimming with ideas of what to serve in these festive cones!

Tell us, what would you serve in your party cones?
